Trained Preschool General and Special Educators

Our General Education and special education teachers establish developmentally oriented environments conducive to the growth and development of our young children and their families. They adopt a multi-cultural, anti-bias understanding that is reflected in the curriculum and the activities for the classrooms. Our teachers extend and support a home-like environment. Develop goals for individual children. Participate in IEP development, and record IEP goals progress on a weekly basis.

Paraprofessional Support

Our Trained Paraprofessionals works with our certified teachers and therapists in devising special strategies for reinforcing learning materials and skills based on the understanding of the individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities. They serves as the chief source of information and help to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the regular certified staff.

Individual & Group Speech/Language Therapy

licensed Speech and Language Pathologists/Therapists support our children by helping them improve their expressive language skills such as increasing vocabulary and ability to express wants and needs, and receptive language (understanding) skills such as following directions and answering questions. Therapy may also address articulation, phonology, pragmatics, oral motor, feeding, disorders of swallowing, fluency and voice.

Occupational Therapy

Our licensed Occupational Therapists support our children, by helping them with fine motor, visual perceptual skills, and sensory processing (including attention and impulsivity).

Physical Therapy

Our licensed Physical Therapists use a variety of techniques and strategies, to support our children; helping them learn to function safely and efficiently in their environment and participate fully in gross motor activities in school. Our well-equipped physical therapy gym is a safe and fun place where children enjoy therapeutic play activities that strengthen their skills.

School Social Worker

Our licensed School Social Worker provides a wide array of evidence-based therapy and counseling services in our quiet, nurturing, play therapy room in the child’s dominant language.

Our School Social Worker integrates a variety of evidence-based behavioral modification techniques and programs including:

 §  Emotionally Responsive Practice

 §  Social Skills Training

 §  Conflict Resolution Training

Our School Social Worker also works with the families of the children regarding any social services that the family may find helpful such as family trips, counseling services, educational growth and discovery of community resources.

Enrichment Programs

Enrichment Classes allow children to explore new interests and tap into unknown talents. They encourage children’s creativity and assist in building their confidence and social skills.

    Dance

Our Dance program allows children to simultaneously move, think, feel, and allow students to express themselves and communicate through movement, which is a natural means of expression for children. Through dance, students learn teamwork, focus, and improvisational skills. Dance awakens new perceptions in children which help them learn and think in new ways.

    Art

Our Art Enrichment program introduces children to a wide variety of art media. Children learn to enjoy the process rather than the product and discover the use of art to understand and express their experiences and emotions.

    Music

During Music, children are exposed to a wide range of instruments as they are given the opportunity to explore different instruments in a variety of ways. Music enrichment fosters creative expression while providing children with the opportunity to work towards their goals.

Trips and curricular enhancements

Our children participate in a variety of educational trips which allow them to explore nature, animals and science. In addition, short community trips are often related to classroom activities and themes. The children are provided with in-house interactive experiences featuring a variety of guest performances as well participate in creating their very own school show.

Family Involvement

Adaptive Solutions Multi Services upholds an open door policy, where families are always welcome at any time. Teachers and related service providers maintain ongoing communication with parents regarding their child’s progress and/or any issues or concerns relating to his/her development. In return, Adaptive solutions Multi Services encourages families to do the same, informing teachers of progress noted (so we can join in applause!) or to relay any issues/changes in the child’s routine. In addition, a colorful, one-page monthly newsletter is sent home with each child on the first Wednesday of every month during the school year. The newsletter contains information about school events scheduled for the month, an inspirational quote of the month and free or low cost family trip ideas the families may like to attend when school is out of session.

Family Education Workshops

are offered frequently on a variety of current topics in child development. Our social work department works closely with parents and offers Parent Consultation whenever any specific issues and questions relating to their child arises. Changes which occur in children’s lives (such as a new baby, family members moving in/out of the house) can have a deep impact on a child and can affect his/her behavior. Social workers are available to offer strategies and insight to help families help their child address his/her feelings and adapt to the situation.
